Fixing iTunes unknown error 11503
More often than not I am getting the following error message when trying to update (download updates) iOS applications from within iTunes.
![Could not purchase “xxx”. An unknown error occurred (11503).](http://cdn.blot.im/blog_b63dc39c1792443d99923b2d07d1fdd5/_image_cache/456c75e5-3511-45b8-b5c1-c7114cbcb068.png)
Most of the time this error will ‘resolve’ itself after a couple of days updating the troublesome updates without a hitch.
To fix the issue without having to wait for days you can also delete the offending .ipa file(s) from your Mobile Applications
-folder
Platform | Location |
---|---|
Mac | /Users/**username**/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications |
Windows | C:\Users\**username**\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications |
After deleting the .ipa file(s) the updates should get downloaded without any further issues.
