Progress bar stuck on Downloads folder

When you are downloading a file to your Mac you can track the download progress directly on the Downloads folder in the Dock

Most of the times when the download has finished the progress bar disappears, but from time to time the progression bar seems to be ‘stuck’.

This issue does not get resolved until the Mac gets restarted (something I rarely do).

It appears that simply restarting the Dock solves this issue as well . You can restart the Dock by issuing the following command from the Terminal. You will be asked to enter your admin password since we are using the sudo command.

sudo killall Dock
sudo killall Docksudo killall Dock

The Dock will disappear and after a short while it will reappear in all its glory
